After tent camping her whole life, and an advancing age over 70, Marge turned towards Boho to see how we could masterfully craft a rig to provide all the right amenities in supporting her desire for independence, comfort, and camaraderie.

Marge learned the word “Sila” from author Gretel Ehrlich, fellow lover of altitude and latitude, who introduced its meaning in a Greenlandic tongue as “weather” or “consciousness”. Curious, she then discovered that it was also a concept in Buddhism meaning “to do right”, “right action”, a sort of internal moral compass. These meanings resonated with Marge and before she could name her next dog “Sila” she bought a van and named it “Sila” instead (it also ironically means “hag” in Arabic - haha).

Marge retired two years ago having enjoyed an active Pacific Northwest life of backpacking, skiing, climbing and many trips to Nepal. She led a satisfying 40+ year career in health care services and teaching and recently endured a separation after a long relationship.

Marge knew it was time to continue exploring what the West offer, but with no particular plan.

Features of Sila include an Espar Heater, desirable for all-season travel in the northwest, as well as hot water for lengthy trips, an awning for sunny spots like the southwest or Baja, or rain closer to her home in Seattle; and of course a refrigerator and toilet for self reliance.

Marge shared that one of best decisions as a currently single woman was planning for a second sleeping space, where the sofa seats can collapse together to make a second bed.

Sila and Marge were a fun project for the entire team - her knowledge and perspective on life fit “life on the road” perfectly.
