story:

The story of Buffalo Gal pulls at our heart strings. Our client, Fraser, had wanted a camper van for years but never felt it was time to move forward. Unexpectedly, her mother passed away and through this difficult time of reflection, she felt it was time to realize her dream. Fraser’s mother was from Buffalo, NY and her boat was named “Buffalo Gal” - so this van (of the same name) was built as an honor to her mother.

Buffalo Gal is a truly unique design. Boho’s tall model was the springboard for the layout but with additional custom tweaks. The client wanted to use the van for her fly fishing and ski trips, so we extended the garage space beneath seating in the living area to allow for her gear. A passenger-side wall/book shelf was created to allow privacy from the living area as well as a place to store books to read while lying in bed.

Boho created a face-to-face seating area where both a slide out butcher block table and electric fridge allow for easy access and stowing. To allow flexibility and more kitchen space, the client preferred to go with a portable stove for cooking both in and outside the van.

The systems include 25 gallons of water, an outdoor shower, 200 watts of solar panels powering 210 ah of battery life, multiple AC outlets, a stowaway portable toilet and LED lighting throughout the entire van. A Thule awning was installed to create an outdoor room to entertain friends.

Final details of Buffalo Gal include cushion upholstery, a passenger swivel seat, a subway tile kitchen backsplash and red cedar tongue and groove for that “ski lodge” feel.

Upon completion, Fraser and her daughter drove back to Salt Lake City, UT on their maiden voyage - starting a new chapter of adventure for Buffalo Gal and her family.
