story:

John & Maria were looking for the ultimate road-trip vehicle when they first approached Boho.

Residing in the arid landscape of New Mexico (quite similar to Phoenix), they needed a van that could adjust to the hot and cold temperature swings often found in the desert.

The solution to the problem was “Eagle’s Nest” a Boho Van sporting a few unique additions.

On the roof of Eagle’s Nest we installed a 12V TurboKool Cooling System, which draws air over water to mimic air conditioning. The system runs off 25 gallons which also feeds their outdoor shower and drop-in Ruvati sink. It requires no shore power as most AC units would.

To heat the van, we installed an Espar B4L aux heat system. This is a highly efficient unit which draws little power and heats the van by combusting gasoline from the van’s fuel tank. It works great in high altitude and is easily controlled by a wall mounted thermostat.

Other unique additions include an additional drawer cabinet with butcher block countertop along the passenger door, a combination 12V/120V Outlet to mount a TV, and additional windows giving “Eagle’s Nest” plenty of natural light.

The electrical system is robust - sporting 300AH of Battleborn Lithium Ion house bank and Victron components to keep it running smooth and efficient.

Jon and Maria made the trek out to Phoenix, picked up their new adventure vehicle, and hit the desert road. The drive from Phoenix to Santa Teresa is HOT in the summer - but we’re confident it felt just fine in the “Eagle’s Nest”.
