story:

Kaelan and Alyssa grew up near the White Mountains of New Hampshire and it’s where their love for skiing/snowboarding, hiking, biking and camping began.

Fast forward to 2018. Kaelan and Alyssa quit their corporate jobs and traveled Europe, Asia and New Zealand for the entire year. Upon returning, and sprucing up their resumes for new jobs, they took another ski trip to the White Mountains. It was on this trip they decided they wanted to try freelancing - and the idea of Smoko Digital was born.

“Smoko” is a term for “short break during the work day” which is part of the New Zealand work culture. They feel it’s something us Americans could use more of (we tend to agree)!

Since the want to visit their clients all over the country, Kaelan and Alyssa decided to take Smoko Digital on the road via their own Boho Van they named “Lone Spruce”. The name is an homage to a legendary landmark off Exit 28 in the White Mountains - back where their adventures began.

Lone Spruce is unique in that it has custom elements not seen in many of our previous builds. This includes a larger kitchen window, no divider wall, and reversing the placement of the dual zone Dometic fridge.

Their Granite Crystal color van also features matte black finishes on the sink, faucet, cabinet pulls and other interior hardware.

Lone Spruce will give Kaelan and Alyssa plenty of off-grid power as it includes 315ah of battery bank, 400W of solar, a 2000W Victron Multiplus Inverter w/ shore power hookup, and a DC-DC charging system.

We are thrilled to see Lone Spruce provide an avenue to run their digital marketing anywhere in the country - and there’s no reason a little “Smoko” can’t happen on the ski hill along the way (perhaps off Exit 28)!
