story:
Ryan and Lizzie have both experienced challenging careers where they have sacrificed and given back in big ways. Ryan is a Marine Corps veteran, who currently works as a technical writer for a government contractor, and Lizzie is a registered nurse.
With all that devotion outside themselves, Ryan and Lizzie needed a way to put their demanding work aside- to uplug and connect with the outdoors.
Four big reasons catapulted Bethel into existence:
1. A desire to explore all the National Parks west of the Mississippi. They’ve already conquered Joshua Tree and are looking forward to upcoming visits to Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. As a Marine Corps Veteran, Ryan has an all access pass for the parks and doesn’t want to let that opportunity escape them.
2. Having property in Alaska, they will be using Bethel to road trip their way there! As they make their way north, they will bypass through multiple states and territories as well as traverse between time zones and border crossings. Have you ever driven the Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper - hailed as one of the most beautiful drives in the world?
3. With a teenage daughter participating in volleyball tournaments across the country, Ryan and Lizzie will be able to follow the team and support their daughter. With the added additions of the 2nd sleep surface and 3rd seat, their daughter can join in the adventures any time she pleases!
4. Let’s not forget the dogs! Ryan and Lizzie are tired of leaving their two sweet English bulldogs at home. With a Boho van, no dog is left behind!
The name “Bethel” holds a special meaning. Bethel, Alaska is the geographic midpoint between Korea (Lizzie is of Korean descent), and Houston, Texas (Ryan’s hometown). Can we let out a big “Awww”!
Bethel was designed off of Boho’s Base Build with extras needed for those cold days in Alaska. The Espar B4L cabin heater will keep those chilly nights cozy and warm and the hot water heater will provide steamy showers.
Bethel boasts two roof fans to provide for air circulation throughout the living space and to bring in the scent of the fresh air.
Bethel’s sleek finishes include a Ceramic Bevel Bright White tile with contrasting Espresso upholstery and a Mountain themed duvet.
With their 315 AH lithium battery bank, they have the luxury of plugging in all sorts of extra features into their outlets.
The windows are framed out on each end of the bed to fit a 75” length mattress to accommodate Ryan’s height (one of the first Boho vans with this ability).
We can’t wait to hear about Bethel’s adventures into the wilds of Alaska and beyond!
